February 21-23
Today's Spotlight
Toni Morrison has won nearly every book award there is, including a Pulitzer Prize for Fiction in 1988 for her book, Beloved. She also received the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1993. She was the eighth woman, and first black woman to be awarded this honor. Toni Morrison has written some of the most important and powerful works of literature about life as an African American, including The Bluest Eye, Jazz, Song of Solomon, and Sula, as well as several children’s books and a play.
